This is the coronela flag [king's colour] of the Barcelona Regiment of Light Infantry (1810). The cross is a little wider than usual among flag designs of the time. The inscriptions read '1er BATALLÓN LIGERO / DE BARCELONA'. The Regulation adopted 1st July 1810 established that the first battalion of each line regiment was to take the coronela colour and the other battalions a sencilla [regimental] colour. It also established that independent light infantry battalions were to use a sencilla colour. Luis Esquiroz Medina, ¿Banderines o Guiones?.
